THANK YOU
FOR 30 WONDERFUL YEARS
OUR NEIGHBOR'S CHILD
Dear Neighbors (those we've served and those who've served alongside us);
It has been an honor and privilege to coordinate the community's efforts to provide holiday gifts to the children from families in need of assistance.
For three decades Our Neighbor's Child volunteers gathered and distributed gifts to children based on referrals received from our local schools. Over the years the needs of our community have grown and referral policies have changed, requiring the efforts of more than just one single all-volunteer group.
We are now able to confirm that FOUR local organizations will be managing their own 2022 holiday gift assistance distribution sites. Local schools will be provided with postcards that will provide families with the appropriate date, time and location for each child's gift pick-up.
Our Neighbor's Child will conclude 30(+) years of service by providing gifts and financial resources to support these organizations and ensure that every child referred will be served this holiday season.
ONC has been a wonderful experience for so many who have had the opportunity to serve. We began as a few neighbors providing gifts to a handful of children and grew to include thousands of volunteers serving tens of thousands of children over 30 years. Together we met many challenges, (the growth of our serving area, policy changes, blizzards, ice storms . . . even a worldwide pandemic).
We are grateful for the selfless dedication and long hours of our volunteer Project Leaders (past and present) and feel blessed to have worked alongside so many deeply caring members of our local community.
Change is hard, but it also opens the door to new ideas and methods essential to meeting the needs of a growing and changing community. We hope that in our 30 years of service we have offered something that might continue to flourish, inspire and motivate others to serve this and other communities and causes for many years to come.
Thank you for the wonderful memories and all the best for your own HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
